SAEDNEWS: The Kremlin has dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s 50-day deadline to initiate Ukraine peace talks, reaffirming its commitment to pursuing the war according to Russia’s national interests without yielding to external pressure.

Kremlin Defies Trump’s 50-Day Ukraine Ultimatum, Signals No Immediate Shift

According to Saed News, the Kremlin has formally responded to President Donald Trump’s recently issued ultimatum, which demanded the commencement of peace negotiations over the Ukraine conflict within 50 days. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that while Russia remains open to dialogue, it rejects any form of pressure or externally imposed timelines.

Speaking to reporters in Moscow, Peskov emphasized that “Russia’s position regarding Ukraine remains unchanged,” and that the military operation will continue “until national objectives are achieved.” He further underlined that all Russian decisions are grounded in current realities and Moscow’s strategic priorities—not in reaction to foreign ultimatums.

President Trump had earlier released a statement warning that if peace talks do not begin within the 50-day window, the course of the war might take a new direction, implying a shift in U.S. involvement or policy. However, the Kremlin’s response was measured yet resolute, signaling no immediate alteration to its stance.

The exchange underscores the persistent gulf between the Trump administration and Russian authorities concerning the trajectory of the Ukraine conflict. While the U.S. is pushing for accelerated negotiations, Russia appears content to proceed at its own pace, heightening doubts about the near-term prospects for a diplomatic resolution.

Analysts note that this latest standoff reflects broader geopolitical tensions and suggests that the path to peace in Ukraine remains fraught with complexity and divergent strategic interests.
