SAEDNEWS: Iran's Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani says that the Islamic Republic says that the Islamic Republic is determined to make the Israeli regime pay the price for assassinating Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
According to SAEDNEWS, On Saturday night, Iranian official Bagheri Kani engaged in a phone conversation with Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib, during which he made pointed remarks about the ongoing tensions in the West Asian region. Kani emphasized that Iran, in defense of its national security, territorial integrity, and sovereignty, will hold the Israeli regime accountable for its aggressive actions. He highlighted that Iran’s response will be grounded in international law and guided by the principles of the United Nations Charter.
Kani condemned the recent violence perpetrated by Israel, specifically mentioning the attack on a school in Gaza that resulted in the deaths of innocent worshippers, as well as assaults on residential areas in Beirut and the assassination of prominent Hamas figure Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. He characterized these actions as deliberate attempts by the "criminal Zionist regime" to undermine stability in the region.
In her response, Minister Lahbib expressed Belgium's deep concern over the escalating situation in West Asia, echoing the sentiments of supporting the Palestinian people's right to self-determination. She condemned the expansion of Israeli settlements and underscored Belgium's commitment to advocating for the rights of Palestinian refugees while considering potential sanctions against extreme Zionist settlers. Lahbib also called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and highlighted the necessity for all involved parties to exercise restraint.
This recent escalation follows the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, which the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attributed to a plot by the Israeli regime, allegedly backed by the United States. Senior Iranian leaders have vowed to respond decisively, with Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warning that Israel's actions have set the stage for its own severe repercussions.
Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, a political adviser to Khamenei, took to social media to reiterate Iran’s commitment to responding robustly to what he described as Israel's attempts to provoke conflict and sabotage peace negotiations. He noted that Iran is prepared to enact severe punishment against the Israeli regime, guided by a framework of legal, diplomatic, and media strategies.
As tensions continue to escalate, the need for dialogue and restraint between Iran and the international community, including Brussels, remains crucial in seeking a pathway toward stability and peace in the region.
