SAEDNEWS: Kani says that the Israeli regime is the main cause of instability in the region and the Islamic Republic would confront the cause of insecurity and instability in the region with a decisive response.
According to SAEDNEWS, Iran's Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, stated during a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, on Tuesday night that the Zionist regime is primarily responsible for the region's instability. He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will decisively counter the sources of insecurity in the area.
In their discussion, the two officials addressed the ramifications of the Zionist regime's assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and the need for an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address this issue.
Bagheri Kani highlighted the recent extraordinary OIC meeting in Jeddah, which aimed to investigate the crimes of the Zionist regime related to Haniyeh's assassination and its violations of the security and sovereignty of the Islamic Republic as an OIC member. He expressed hope that the OIC convening would prove beneficial for the Islamic world and the Palestinian cause, and that it would help mitigate the military and security aggressions of the Zionist regime through appropriate threats and punitive measures.
The Iranian diplomat also criticized the lack of condemnation from the United States and European governments regarding the terrorist act committed against Ismail Haniyeh.
In response, the top Egyptian official indicated that Cairo has cautioned European and American parties about the perilous actions of the Zionist regime and expressed a desire for reduced tensions in the region.
According to a statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed when their residence in Tehran was targeted on Wednesday. The IRGC characterized the assassination as being orchestrated by the Zionist regime and supported by the "criminal government of America."
In reaction to this act of terror, senior Iranian officials pledged to respond appropriately. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, remarked that the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh has set the stage for harsh repercussions for the Israeli regime.
