SAEDNEWS: George Clooney starred in David O. Russell’s 1999 directional ‘Three Kings’
According to SAEDNEWS, In a recent interview with GQ, George Clooney opened up about his decision not to collaborate with acclaimed director David O. Russell, with whom he last worked on the critically acclaimed film Three Kings back in 1999. The Oscar-winning actor emphasized how he has become increasingly discerning about his professional relationships and the projects he chooses to be part of.
When asked if he would consider working with Russell again in the future, Clooney did not hold back. He stated that he would pass up even a potentially fantastic film if it meant enduring what he described as a "miserable" working environment with Russell. He elaborated, saying, “And so it’s not just like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go do a really good film, like Three Kings, and I’m going to be miserable like David O. Russell making my life hell. Making every person in the crew’s life hell.’”
This isn’t the first time Clooney has openly discussed his negative experiences with Russell. In interviews dating back to the early 2000s, he described working with the director as "truly, without exception, the worst experience of his life." Clooney recounted a particularly troubling moment when he witnessed Russell being verbally abusive to crew members, humiliating them in front of others. Concerned for the project's atmosphere, Clooney even penned a letter to Russell, asking him to tone down his behavior. However, the response he received was more hostility, as Russell reportedly turned verbally abusive towards Clooney himself.
On a more positive note, Clooney has exciting projects ahead. He is set to star in the upcoming action-comedy film Wolves, alongside Brad Pitt, Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan. This highly anticipated film is scheduled to hit theaters on September 20, promising fans another chance to see Clooney in action.
As Clooney continues to navigate his career with intention and conviction, it’s clear that maintaining a positive and respectful working environment remains a top priority for this Hollywood superstar.
