SAEDNEWS: Ground beef toast is a flavorful and satisfying dish, perfect as an appetizer or a quick meal for gatherings. In this recipe, we’ll guide you step-by-step on how to prepare this delicious snack. Let’s get started!
Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
Medium onion (halved and sliced): 1
Medium leek: 1
Medium carrot: 1
Garlic (finely chopped): 4 cloves
Ground beef: 900 grams
Tomato paste: 1/4 cup
Rolled oats: 1/3 cup
Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
Chicken or beef stock: 2 cups
Salt: 1 teaspoon
Black pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
Thick slices of toast bread: 4
Pan drippings or softened butter: 4 tablespoons
Chopped parsley (optional)
Prepare the Vegetables:
Slice the leek and carrot lengthwise, then cut them into thin rings.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes.
Reduce the heat, add the onion, leek, carrot, and chopped garlic. Sauté for 5–6 minutes until the onion softens and releases its juice.
Cook the Beef:
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon.
Cook until the beef is browned and no longer pink (about 8–10 minutes).
Add Seasonings and Sauce:
Crush the tomatoes by hand and add them to the skillet.
Stir in the rolled oats, soy sauce, and 1 cup of chicken or beef stock.
Mix well and let it simmer. The sauce should have a smooth, thick consistency. Add more stock if it gets too dry.
Season with salt and pepper.
Lower the heat and let it cook slowly for 1.5–2 hours, adding stock occasionally if needed, until the mixture is creamy and the beef releases its oils.
Prepare the Toast:
Toast the bread slices using a toaster or in the oven.
Spread softened butter or leftover meat sauce from the pan over each slice.
If using an oven, preheat the broiler. Arrange the slices on a foil-lined tray and broil for 1–2 minutes until the sauce bubbles slightly.
Assemble and Serve:
Spoon the beef mixture generously onto the toasted bread slices.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful ground beef toast!
