SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi denounced the Zionist regime’s “cowardly” attack targeting Yemeni leaders, lambasting the UN’s inaction on the Israeli atrocities that have jeopardized international peace and security.
In a message, Araghchi condemned the assassination of Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmad al-Rahawi and several other senior officials of Yemen’s government in a brutal Israeli military strike.
He offered his condolences to the resilient people of Yemen, the oppressed Palestinian nation, and Muslims and freedom-loving peoples around the world.
He described the cowardly killing of Yemeni leaders, which flagrantly violated Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as a heinous and unprecedented crime against the proud and free Yemeni nation, a country that has established itself over the past two years as a steadfast supporter of the Palestinian people.
Araghchi criticized the continued inaction of the United Nations in response to the Israeli regime’s violations of international law and warned that the escalation of Israeli aggression in West Asia --alongside repeated attacks on Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon, carried out with the military and political backing of the US, the UK, and other Western countries-- has severely undermined the credibility of international law and made these states accomplices to the crimes of the occupying regime.
He stressed that this situation constitutes an unprecedented threat to international peace and security and a grave danger to humanity.
The Iranian foreign minister also called on the regional countries and the international community to take urgent and effective measures to halt the genocide in Gaza and hold the Israeli officials accountable.
Araghchi emphasized that the criminal actions of the Zionist regime will not weaken the Yemeni people’s resolve to defend their dignity and independence, nor their support for the Palestinian cause, but will instead strengthen the flames of resistance across Yemen and the region.
