Residents of areas with dry, cold, or low-humidity climates often struggle with dry skin. Cold weather can make dry skin, especially on the face, more bothersome.

Weekly Skincare Routine for Cold Seasons / 100% Relief from Dry Skin with These 2 Homemade Face Masks

According to the family magazine service of Saed News, having a skincare routine tailored to your skin type is crucial. Start by cleansing your skin to remove all dirt, toxins, and makeup. Many cleansers can worsen dry skin, especially those containing sulfates like sodium lauryl sulfate. Opt for sulfate-free cleansers. If you don't have a facial oil, kitchen olive oil can be effective. Dry skin lacks sebum, and restoring the skin's natural oils is essential. After applying facial oil, use a strong, thick moisturizer. It's okay if a layer of cream remains on your skin. Drinking plenty of water is also key. Adding fruit pieces or chia seeds to your water can improve absorption. Remember, black tea is not a substitute for water as it is a diuretic and can dehydrate the body. Green tea, on the other hand, is hydrating and rich in antioxidants, making it one of the best beverages for treating dry skin.

Simple Homemade Face Masks for Dry Skin

1. Cucumber Mask

Cucumber, with its high water content, provides ample moisture to your skin. Simply grate a cucumber and apply it to your face for 30 minutes. Then, wash your face and enjoy the benefits.

2. Honey and Lemon Mask

A mixture of lemon juice and honey is a highly effective mask for treating dry skin. This combination moisturizes, cleanses, and brightens the skin. However, you should not use this mask more than once a week, as overuse can increase skin dryness. Always combine lemon juice with honey, cucumber, or other natural moisturizers. To prepare the mask, mix 2 tablespoons of lemon juice with 1 tablespoon of honey or almond oil and apply it to your face for 15 minutes.

Important Tips:

Use hydrating and moisturizing products suited for dry skin that do not cause irritation.

Avoid hot water showers. Adjust the water temperature so it's moderate, as hot water can damage the skin and cause excessive dryness.

Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and prevent excessive dryness. Drinking water also helps treat dry lips.

Medical treatments for dry skin include microdermabrasion, hydrodermabrasion, and mesotherapy, which may have their own side effects.

Use medications, supplements, and vitamins related to treating dry skin across your entire body.
