Mohammad Ayini announced the launch of the largest electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Tehran at Qorkhaneh Terminal, designed to expand EV infrastructure and reduce air pollution.

The new facility spans 4,800 square meters and features 15 fast-charging stations, allowing simultaneous charging for 15 electric cars and buses. Charging times are impressively efficient—around 2 hours for each bus and 40 minutes for each electric taxi, highlighting the station’s speed and high performance.

Ayini emphasized that this project is unprecedented in the capital, representing a major step in Tehran’s push for clean transportation infrastructure. Its operation will encourage broader adoption of electric vehicles in public transport fleets across District 12, promising significant reductions in air pollution and improved quality of life for residents.

Situated in one of Tehran’s busiest bus terminals, serving thousands of passengers daily, the Qorkhaneh station is a strategically vital move toward a cleaner, greener metropolis. According to city plans, the charging station will be officially operational next Saturday, marking a milestone in Tehran’s sustainable transportation efforts.
