SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei declared on Monday that Tehran will not reengage in nuclear negotiations unless assured of tangible diplomatic results, while warning that both diplomatic and military tools remain at Iran’s disposal to defend its interests.

Iran Insists on “Effective” Diplomacy, Vows No Return to Nuclear Talks Without Guarantees

According to Saed News, Iran has firmly boxed out any immediate return to talks over its nuclear program, demanding clear proof that diplomacy can produce real outcomes. At his weekly press briefing in Tehran, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei rejected what he termed a false “negotiation or no‑negotiation” binary, insisting that dialogue remain a strategic instrument rather than mere spectacle.

“As long as we are not confident in the efficacy of diplomacy and the negotiation process, we will not engage in such talks,” Baghaei stated, underscoring that Iran’s armed forces and its diplomatic corps share a unified mission: safeguarding national rights. He emphasized that diplomacy must be wielded wisely to defend Iran’s peaceful nuclear pursuits and secure its broader interests.

Baghaei also lambasted Israel’s airstrikes on humanitarian zones in Gaza, attributing the violence to international inaction. “The main reason the Zionist regime continues its crimes and genocide in Gaza is its absolute impunity,” he said, calling on states to break their silence and act.

On the thorny snapback sanctions mechanism under UN Security Council Resolution 2231, Baghaei dismissed any legal or moral foundation for reactivation. He reminded journalists that Iran remains a JCPOA party, having scaled back its commitments only after the U.S. withdrawal and Europe’s failure to uphold its obligations. Any attempt to invoke snapback now, he argued, is purely political.

Turning to geopolitics, Baghaei highlighted ongoing strategic dialogues with Russia and China—both JCPOA members—and noted the absence of a fixed date for talks with U.S. counterparts. He reaffirmed that Iran welcomes mediation by friendly nations but will only negotiate when assured of real diplomatic returns.

Finally, Baghaei endorsed a new parliamentary directive to document Israeli‑U.S. aggression against Iran, and criticized European powers for condemning Iran’s defensive response to attacks on al‑Udeid Air Base in Qatar as “hypocritical.” He concluded by affirming Iran’s resolve: “We entered negotiations in good faith, but will never barter away our national dignity or security.”
