SAEDNEWS: The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said unconditional concessions will not bring the enemy to its senses, stressing that strengthening national cohesion and implementing economic reforms are the right paths to correct rival powers’ attitude towards Iran.
In remarks on Sunday, Ali Larijani said that negotiations should not be approached with naivety, noting that “no one says we should not negotiate.”
“Negotiation is a method, but it must take place in its proper context,” he added, noting that Iran has never rejected dialogue outright.
“We did negotiate, and they went to war,” he said, adding that the current US approach to talks is not genuine but rather aimed at securing pre-determined outcomes.
Larijani emphasized that “they must be brought to their senses,” and that doing so requires the formation of “a kind of national resistance,” which includes a strong economic component.
He added that “bringing the enemy to its senses cannot be achieved through unconditional concessions.” Instead, Larijani asserted, “the correct path to change the rivals’ mindset is to strengthen national cohesion, and the prerequisite for that is economic reform to restore stability to people’s lives.”
