SAEDNEWS: Beijing calls for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council to discuss the US actions in Venezuela, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lin Jian said.
China supports holding an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council following US military strikes against Venezuela, saying the council should fulfill its responsibilities, a Chinese diplomat said, according to TASS.
The diplomat also criticized warnings issued by US President Donald Trump toward Colombia and Cuba, stating that China firmly backs Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace and opposes threats or the use of force against countries in the region.
Lin Jian added that every country has the right to choose its own international partners and that outside powers should not interfere in other nations’ internal affairs under any pretext.
