SAEDNEWS: President Pezeshkian left Tehran for New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly session.
In a recent X post, Mehdi Sanaei, political advisor to the Iranian president, announced that Pezeshkian will deliver his speech at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday morning local time.
The president’s visit will also include meetings with various heads of state, the UN chief, think tanks, and the Iranian diaspora in the US.
Prior to traveling, Pezeshkian met with Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who offered prayers, advice, and best wishes for the trip.
World leaders are gathering in New York for the annual General Debate, September 23-29, under the theme: “Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights”. The theme commemorates the UN’s anniversary and emphasizes global commitment to multilateralism, solidarity, and collective action for people and the planet.
