SAEDNEWS: President Masoud Pezeshkian described his upcoming trip to New York as a valuable opportunity to present Iran’s positions and hear the views of other world leaders at the UN General Assembly.
Ahead of his departure for New York, President Pezeshkian emphasized that this year’s UN General Assembly theme, “Unity and Progress for All,” stands in stark contrast to the global climate of unilateralism and domination.
“The General Assembly provides a critical platform to hear world leaders and present our own positions,” he stated.
Highlighting the ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza, Pezeshkian condemned the killing of children due to shortages of food and medicine as “horrifying.” He criticized Western nations for arming Israel while claiming to defend democracy and human rights, stressing that all humans, as the noblest of creatures, deserve protection.
Quoting Imam Khomeini, the president noted that many international disputes arise from semantics rather than substance: “We all speak of the same realities, but with different words. If we remain truthful and seek righteousness, there will be no reason for conflict.”
Pezeshkian underlined that dialogue and mutual understanding are essential but denounced countries that “bully and destroy,” which prevent genuine negotiation.
“In New York, I will highlight Iran’s positions and call for convergence within truth, rights, and equality,” he said, asserting that security cannot be exclusive to Israel: “The security of all peoples across the world must be safeguarded.”
He concluded by calling the General Assembly an exceptional opportunity to amplify Iran’s voice: “We will use this platform to make our beliefs heard loudly and clearly on the global stage.”
This address signals Iran’s commitment to diplomacy, global justice, and the protection of human rights, while firmly opposing unilateral aggression and injustice.
