SAEDNEWS: Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Iran Fariddin Nasriyev highlighted the potential for increased cooperation in tourism and trade between the two countries.

During a meeting with Provincial Governor of Isfahan Mehdi Jamalinejad, Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Iran Fariddin Nasriyev emphasized the need for comprehensive development of trade, economic, and especially tourism relations between Iran and Uzbekistan.

The meeting aimed to expand bilateral cooperation, and Nasriyev officially invited Jamalinejad to lead a high-level delegation to the historic cities of Samarkand and Bukhara in Uzbekistan. He shared his personal connection to Isfahan, recalling that he was born and educated in Samarkand, and noted that he had visited Isfahan along with his family.

Highlighting the successful history of collaboration, the ambassador mentioned a recent successful trip of a 100-member delegation from Razavi Khorasan Province to Uzbekistan, as well as a reciprocal visit from Uzbekistan. He proposed naming a street in Isfahan "Samarkand Street" as a symbol of the deep cultural ties between the two nations.

With Uzbekistan hosting 12 million tourists last year and aiming for 15 million this year, the ambassador stressed the potential for tourism cooperation. He announced plans to increase weekly flights between Tehran and Tashkent, emphasizing the importance of joint business and tourism delegations to significantly boost exchanges.

Nasriyev concluded that this meeting heralds a new chapter of sisterhood between the rich cultures and economies of the two regions.
