Caden tragically passed away after sustaining a severe brain injury during his school's opening football game against Selma Private School on Friday.
Caden's parents, Arsella Slagel Tellier and Jamie Tellier, shared the devastating news on social media, announcing, “Our boy, Caden Tellier, has met Jesus face-to-face.” They expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support, stating that Caden will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Funeral arrangements are currently being made and will be shared with the community soon.
During the game, Caden suffered his injury in the third quarter after being tackled while carrying the ball. Despite being rushed to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital later that evening, the medical team was unable to save him. Bryan Oliver, headmaster of Morgan Academy, confirmed the tragic news, describing Caden as a "shining light" in the school community who will be sorely missed.
