SAEDNEWS: The Syndicate of Chemists in Lebanon (SCL) warned Sunday that Israeli regime used internationally banned bombs containing depleted uranium in Lebanon.
According to SAEDNEWS, The Syndicate of Chemists in Lebanon (SCL) issued a serious warning on Sunday about Israel allegedly using internationally banned bombs that contain depleted uranium during its military actions in Lebanon.
In their statement, the SCL condemned the violence against Lebanese civilians and highlighted the "massacres" being carried out. They stressed the importance of understanding the health risks associated with inhaling dust from these bombings.
According to Anadolu Agency, the SCL noted that the extreme destruction seen in various areas of Lebanon, including how deeply the bombs penetrate buildings and the ground, suggests the use of these powerful weapons.
The syndicate emphasized that using such banned munitions, especially in populated areas like Beirut, can lead to widespread damage and long-term health issues for the residents due to harmful dust from the explosions.
They called on the international community to take action by stopping Israel's attacks and preventing the use of these dangerous weapons. They also urged the Lebanese government to bring the issue to the UN Security Council to address the ongoing violations and protect innocent civilians.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in at least 2,036 deaths, over 9,500 injuries, and displaced around 1.2 million people, according to Lebanese officials.
There are concerns that continued Israeli attacks in Lebanon could escalate the situation into a larger regional conflict involving Gaza.
