SAEDNEWS: Political expert Foad Izadi warned that any military strike on Iran will trigger more intense attacks on American military bases.
Foad Izadi, a professor of political studies at the University of Tehran, emphasized that in the event of any military aggression against Iran, US military bases will face significantly stronger attacks.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Izadi added that after the activation of the snapback mechanism, no change is expected in Iran’s economic relations; countries that have been interacting with Iran will continue along the same path.
At the same time, accepting Western and US political promises remains difficult for Iranians, he added.
Izadi noted that the new sanctions do not include banking operations or oil sales, considering them of minor importance. He highlighted that Western countries aim primarily to politically and economically pressure Iran.
According to the Iranian academic, the European sanctions are linked to Iran’s nuclear program but largely serve as a psychological and media campaign to influence public opinion inside Iran, exaggerating the impact of sanctions and contributing to the devaluation of the Iranian rial.
The periously terminated UN sanctions against Iran were officially re-imposed on the country illegally early on Sunday. Iranian officials strongly rejected the move, saying that the action lacks a legal basis.
