Saed News: Chicken is one of the most commonly consumed food items in our country, used to prepare a variety of delicious dishes. Besides the main parts of chicken, many people also consume parts like wings, neck, heart, liver, gizzard, skin, tail, and feet. However, consuming certain parts of chicken can be harmful to health.

Serious Warning: Never Consume These Parts of Chicken 🚫

According to the Family Magazine Service of Saed News, citing Sad Online, parts such as chicken wings, neck, heart, liver, gizzard, skin, tail, and feet are commonly consumed. However, due to serious health risks, some parts of chicken should be avoided.

Harms of Chicken Skin

  1. Chicken skin contains saturated fats and cholesterol and is high in calories, leading to weight gain and other dangerous health issues.

  2. Antibiotics used to keep growing chickens healthy accumulate in the skin, potentially weakening the immune system when consumed.

  3. Heavy metals, toxins, and pesticides from grains like barley and corn in chicken feed settle in the skin, increasing the risk of cancerous tumors.

  4. Hormones injected into chickens for faster growth, similar to sex hormones, can cause issues such as excessive hair growth, acne, and ovarian cysts in women, and severe skin acne and hormonal imbalances in men. In children, they may lead to weight gain.

Harms of Chicken Tail

Some people consume chicken tail, which is high in fat and harmful for everyone. Its consumption increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases, high cholesterol, and other issues.

Harms of Excessive Consumption of Chicken Feet

Chicken feet, rich in cartilage, are believed by some nutritionists to provide calcium, phosphorus, and vitamins A and D, aiding cartilage repair and soft bone treatment. These experts suggest consuming chicken feet once or twice a month. However, overconsumption can cause tissue inflammation. Some experts argue that chicken feet lack significant protein value and do not aid cartilage formation. They are also high in saturated fat, making them unsuitable for people with obesity or diabetes.

Harms of Chicken Gizzard

While some use gizzards as a meat substitute, their high levels of cadmium, lead, and chromium make them unsuitable as a replacement. Gizzards are also rich in cholesterol, which can harm people with cardiovascular diseases, high blood cholesterol, and gout.

Harms of Chicken Liver

The liver, while storing nutrients, also acts as a detoxifying organ for toxins, hormones, vaccines, and antibiotics. In poultry farming, antibiotics and chemical drugs are used to control infections, parasites, and viruses. If administered 24–48 hours before slaughter, the liver cannot detoxify these substances, leading to residue buildup in the liver. Consuming chicken liver can result in issues such as cancer, genetic mutations, poisoning, allergies, and antibiotic resistance.

Harms of Chicken Wings and Neck

Chicken wings and neck are common sites for vaccine injections. While the rapid absorption reduces residue levels, some experts still discourage consuming these parts. Chicken necks, where lymph nodes and nerve tissues are abundant, cannot be adequately cleaned internally, making them unsuitable for consumption. Consuming wings and necks can lead to various health problems, including rapid growth, digestive issues, fatty liver, and cardiovascular diseases. They may also cause cyst formation in the uterus, severe acne, increased body hair, menstrual cycle irregularities, and obesity.
