SAEDNEWS: Iran's Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali announced the official invitation of Vladimir Putin to Masoud Pezeshkian to attend the BRICS summit, saying that the two sides would probably sign a comprehensive long-term agreement.
According to SAEDNEWS, Iran's Ambassador to Moscow has indicated that there is a potential for Iran and Russia to sign a comprehensive long-term cooperation agreement during the upcoming BRICS summit in Russia, scheduled for October. Ambassador Jalali confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin extended an invitation to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to attend the summit during a congratulatory phone call.
The significant BRICS Summit will take place in Kazan, Russia, from October 22nd to 24th. Jalali emphasized that Iran’s membership in the BRICS group represents a notable achievement for the nation's diplomatic efforts. He mentioned that Russia has several initiatives planned within the framework of BRICS for 2024.
According to Jalali, the expected comprehensive long-term cooperation agreement between Iran and the Russian Federation will likely be signed by both presidents during the summit, depending on the completion of necessary protocol processes. However, he noted that for this agreement to proceed through the legal frameworks of both nations, it must also receive approval from their respective parliaments.
