SAEDNEWS: The Israeli Prime Minister emphasized that only after the release of the last prisoner will the regime address the other provisions of the U.S. President's plan.
Saednews’s politics desk reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today that he will not fully implement the Trump administration’s ceasefire plan until every prisoner held in Gaza is released. Netanyahu said, “We will not proceed with any of the 21 clauses until the first clause — the release of all hostages, whether alive or dead — is achieved and the last hostage, every single one of them, has entered Israeli territory. Only then will we move on to the remaining clauses.”
The comment came after former President Trump had earlier claimed that Israel had accepted the plan and had pressured Hamas to do the same.
Ahead of the second anniversary of Operation al‑Aqsa Storm, the U.S. president unveiled a plan to which Hamas gave conditional agreement. While accepting the idea of freeing Israeli prisoners, Hamas said it is willing to enter mediated talks to negotiate the details of a swap and emphasized that Gaza’s future is a national decision.
Trump posted on Truth Social in reaction to Hamas’s response: “Based on Hamas’s statement, I believe they are ready for lasting peace. Israel must immediately stop bombing Gaza so we can safely and quickly return the hostages.”
Despite ongoing bombardment in Gaza, delegations from Israel and Hamas have today traveled to Cairo for intensive talks mediated by Egypt, with U.S. representatives present, to discuss a ceasefire and prisoner exchange under Trump’s proposed framework.
