SAEDNEWS: Dr. Mohammad Taghi Alami has been appointed as the interim president of the University of Tabriz by the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology.

Dr. Mohammad Taghi Alami is an associate professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Tabriz, specializing in water sciences and engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Tabriz. With 18 years of research experience, he has published 88 conference papers and 48 journal articles, playing a significant role in areas such as neural networks and drought.
Dr. Mohammad Taghi Alami, born in Tabriz, is one of Iran’s prominent figures in civil and water engineering. Committed to scientific and human advancement, he has always strived to contribute to sustainable development and enhance the scientific level of society both personally and professionally.
Dr. Mohammad Taghi Alami holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering-Water from the University of Tabriz (1987), a master's degree in Hydraulic Structures from the same university (1990), and a Ph.D. in Water Sciences and Engineering from the University of Tabriz (2005).
Beyond his scientific activities, Dr. Alami has held various roles in university management and development. He has served as a representative of the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology on several boards, as an executive secretary, and as a member of supervisory and editorial boards of specialized journals.
Dr. Mohammad Taghi Alami has authored 88 conference papers and 48 journal articles on artificial neural networks, runoff, drought, and optimization. Over the past 18 years, he has collaborated with more than 30 researchers.
