SAEDNEWS: Israel has bombed another school housing displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, killing several people.
According to SAEDNEWS, On September 7, 2024, Israeli forces launched an airstrike on the Halimah al-Saadiyah school in Jabalia, northern Gaza, which was housing displaced Palestinian families. The attack resulted in the deaths of at least eight people and left 15 others injured. In a separate incident, an Israeli bombing in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza killed an additional five individuals.
Medical sources reported that Friday alone saw at least 33 Palestinians killed due to Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) highlighted the alarming trend, revealing that 69% of school buildings being used as shelters for displaced families have been directly hit or damaged by Israeli military actions. The agency called for an immediate ceasefire, stating, "This blatant disregard of humanitarian law must stop. We need a ceasefire now."
The ongoing conflict, which escalated following Israel's declaration of war on Gaza on October 7, has led to catastrophic humanitarian consequences. As of now, the scale of the devastation has resulted in nearly 40,900 Palestinian deaths, the majority of whom are women and children, while approximately 94,454 others have sustained injuries. Thousands more are reported missing, presumed dead under the rubble of collapsed structures, as the situation in Gaza grows increasingly dire.
