SAEDNEWS: The Director General for International Peace and Security stated that Israel is the main obstacle for the Islamic world and the region to achieve stability and sustainable development.
According to SAEDNEWS, Asadollah Eshragh-Jahromi, the Director General for International Peace and Security, stated that Israel is the leading obstacle for the Islamic world and the region in achieving stability and sustainable development.
He made these remarks during the 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which took place in Yaoundé, Cameroon, on Thursday and Friday. The meeting was themed “Development of Transport and Communications Infrastructure within the OIC Framework: A Key Tool in the Fight against Poverty and Insecurity.”
Eshragh-Jahromi expressed deep concern and condemned the actions of the Israeli regime, referring to them as "aggression and barbaric crimes" against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip over the past eleven months. He also criticized the recent terrorist act involving the assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. He urged the international community and the OIC to take a strong stance against these actions, calling for accountability for the war crimes and crimes against humanity.
He emphasized the need to address the roots of insecurity and crises in West Asia, noting that Israel's policies hinder cooperation among OIC member states. Eshragh-Jahromi also denounced the economic sanctions imposed on some developing countries, stating that they violate international law and disrupt economic stability, acting as a major barrier to development and access to resources and technology.
