Iran Responds to UAE-US Joint Statement on Disputed Islands

According to SAEDNEWS, The Iranian Foreign Ministry has strongly criticized a recent joint statement from the United States and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) concerning the three islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani stated that these islands are vital parts of Iran's territory and that any comments from third parties about them are invalid and unacceptable. He condemned the UAE’s repeated claims regarding these islands as false and dismissed the political statements issued in collaboration with other nations.

Kan’ani emphasized that the UAE's ongoing assertions will not change the established legal status of these islands, which belong to Iran. He also addressed references to Iran made in the final statement from the recent Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) meeting in Riyadh, reiterating that the islands are an inseparable and permanent part of Iran’s territory.
