SAEDNEWS: The Commander of the Iranian Navy, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, has announced that the Navy has a "major mission" underway, with news of a new achievement in international waters expected soon.
According to SAEDNEWS, In a statement to reporters on Friday, Irani said, “Currently, we have a major mission on our agenda where we are accomplishing its decision-making process. And we will bring our efforts to a conclusion soon and will witness another achievement by this force," as reported by PressTV.
As Western countries attempt to depict the Indian Ocean as unsafe due to Yemen’s anti-Israel operations, Irani pointed out that Iranian naval forces have increased their presence in the region. He stated, “Despite the fact that the enemy is trying to portray the northern part of the Indian Ocean, particularly the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, as unsafe, the naval forces’ fleets are still present in this maritime area not in the same way as before, but in a strengthened manner to secure the shipping.”
Irani also reassured that ships from countries other than Israel are navigating the ocean safely. “Today, all flags, except those representing anti-human and child-killing entities, pass safely through the waterways of the Indian Ocean, and the power of the Iranian nation is maintained in the depth of the oceans, which is commendable,” he said.
His comments come in the context of increased Yemeni military operations aimed at supporting the war-affected Palestinian population amid ongoing violence in Gaza. Since the onset of Israel’s military campaign last October, which has led to devastating casualties, Yemeni forces have been targeting Israeli ships and vessels approaching occupied territories.
The conflict has reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 40,602 Palestinians, primarily women and children, along with 93,855 injuries. Many others are still missing and presumed dead under rubble.
