The mild flavor of spinach and the delightful aroma of the spices make this dish an excellent choice for meals. Turkish spinach köfte, in addition to its unique taste, is rich in iron and other nutrients, making it very beneficial for health.

Ingredients:

  • Spinach: 500 g

  • Vegetable oil: As needed

  • Potato: 1

  • Shredded cheddar cheese: ½ cup

  • Corn flour: 2 tablespoons

  • Flour: 1 tablespoon

  • Eggs: 3

  • Salt and pepper: To taste

  • Carrots: 2

  • Breadcrumbs: As needed

Preparation Method:

Step 1:

Start by washing 500 g of spinach and sterilizing it with water and salt. Then, chop it finely and sauté it in oil for 2 minutes until the water is absorbed.

Step 2:

Wash 1 potato and boil it in a pot with water until cooked. Once cooked, peel the potato and mash it while it's still hot using a potato masher or a grater.

Step 3:

Wash and peel 2 carrots, then boil them in water. Once cooked, chop the carrots into small cubes. Combine the sautéed spinach, mashed potato, diced carrots, and shredded cheddar cheese in a bowl.

Step 4:

Crack 1 egg and beat the yolk and white together with a fork. Add it to the bowl with the prepared mixture and stir well. Season with salt and pepper to taste. To ensure the dough is firm, add 1 tablespoon of flour and 2 tablespoons of corn flour, mixing everything well.

Step 5:

Shape the mixture into small balls, roughly the size of ping pong balls, and flatten them into patties.

Step 6:

Prepare a coating by beating 2 eggs in a bowl and placing breadcrumbs in another bowl. Dip each patty first into the beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.

Step 7:

Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the patties on both sides until golden brown. Once done, remove the köfte from the oil and place them on a plate.

This delicious dish is now ready to be served with bread for dinner. Enjoy your meal!
