According to SAEDNEWS, Samosa is a traditional Iranian dish that is mostly cooked in the southern cities of Iran, including Khuzestan, Hormozgan, and Sistan and Baluchestan. Samosa is made with a layer of dough and a filling consisting of various ingredients like meat, potatoes, and various vegetables. Meat and mushroom samosa is one of the most popular types. Here, we aim to teach you how to make meat and mushroom samosas.
1 onion
300 grams ground meat
10 mushrooms
1 tablespoon tomato paste
Cheese (as needed)
2 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon parsley (optional)
1 bell pepper
Lavash bread (as needed)
Salt, black pepper, turmeric, paprika (as needed)
First, peel and finely chop the onion. Sauté it in a pan with turmeric until it becomes soft and golden. Then add the crushed garlic and sauté for a bit. Next, add the ground meat and cook with the onions until it changes color and becomes tender. Add all the spices and a little salt to the meat.
Next, wash and slice the mushrooms. To prevent them from turning black, sprinkle a little lemon juice on them. Add the sliced mushrooms and chopped bell pepper to the meat mixture and sauté on high heat until the mushrooms release their moisture and the bell pepper softens.
Then, add the tomato paste, some grated cheese, and parsley to the mixture. Sauté until the raw tomato paste smell disappears and the cheese slightly melts. You can either add the cheese while rolling the samosas or mix it into the filling. Cut the soft and fresh lavash bread lengthwise.
Now, place some of the meat mixture on the bread, roll it into a triangle shape, and fry both sides of the samosas in a pan with a little oil. Alternatively, you can grease a baking tray, place the samosas on it, and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes or until the tops become golden.
You can add some red pepper to the filling, if desired.
You can serve these samosas with mayonnaise sauce.
You can also place the meat and mushroom samosas in a sandwich maker to cook with less oil.
