Shrimp Nuggets: A Simple Recipe

Shrimp nuggets combine the wonderful flavors of mixed shrimp with various seasonings, resulting in a flavorful and aromatic dish. This recipe can be served both as an appetizer and as a main course. The combination of different flavors with shrimp in this dish reduces the natural shrimp aroma, making it more appealing and palatable to many people. Here, you will learn how to make restaurant-style and market-style fried shrimp nuggets at home.

Ingredients for Shrimp Nuggets:

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 1 egg

  • 100 grams pizza cheese

  • 1.5 cups breadcrumbs

  • 300 grams cleaned shrimp

  • Salt, black pepper, and turmeric to taste

  • Fresh ginger, coriander powder, and cumin to taste

Instructions for Shrimp Nuggets:

  1. Prepare the Mixture: Peel and wash the garlic and place it in a blender. Add the cleaned shrimp and peeled ginger to the garlic and blend until smooth (you can also use a meat grinder or food processor, or even finely chop them by hand). Add coriander powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to the blended mixture and mix well until the spices are fully incorporated. Transfer the nugget mixture to a large bowl.

  2. Combine Ingredients: Crack the egg into a separate bowl and beat it. Gradually add half a cup of breadcrumbs to the mixture while kneading until you achieve a uniform consistency. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour to let the mixture rest.

  3. Form the Nuggets: After the mixture has rested, remove it from the refrigerator. Heat a large amount of frying oil in a deep pan over low heat to gradually heat up. This ensures that the nuggets cook thoroughly. Take a falafel-sized portion of the mixture, shape it into a ball with your hands, flatten it, and place some pizza cheese in the center. Fold the nugget to form a ball (you can shape the nuggets as desired). Brush the nuggets lightly with oil and roll them in the remaining breadcrumbs.

  4. Fry the Nuggets: Place the prepared nuggets in the hot oil and fry over low heat until golden brown. Turn them over to fry the other side. Once fried, arrange the nuggets on a serving dish and serve with ketchup. Enjoy your meal!

Ingredients for Sesame Shrimp Nuggets:

  • 200 grams cleaned and minced shrimp

  • 2 cloves of garlic

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup grated pizza cheese

  • 1 cup sesame seeds

  • Salt, black pepper, and turmeric to taste

  • Breadcrumbs or baguette powder as needed

  • Cumin and coriander powder in small amounts

  • Fresh ginger powder as needed

  • Enough oil for frying

Instructions for Sesame Shrimp Nuggets:

  1. Prepare the Shrimp: Clean and wash the shrimp, then drain. Mince the shrimp and garlic together, either by chopping finely or using a grinder.

  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat the egg and add all the spices and half a cup of breadcrumbs. Mix in the minced shrimp and garlic combination, then knead well. Take a walnut-sized portion of the mixture, place a teaspoon of pizza cheese in the center, and shape it into a nugget. Repeat with the remaining mixture.

  3. Coat the Nuggets: Prepare two plates, one with sesame seeds and one with breadcrumbs. Heat a frying pan with enough oil for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat. Dip one side of each nugget in sesame seeds and the other side in breadcrumbs, then fry them in the hot oil until golden brown.
