Delicious Chicken Macaroni Recipe

Chicken macaroni is incredibly delicious and widely loved. Although macaroni originates from Italy, various types are now produced and cooked with different recipes in our country. Macaroni can be made with soy, mushrooms, chicken, potatoes, and ground beef. For those who, like me, adore macaroni, I highly recommend trying chicken and mushroom macaroni at least once.

If you are not familiar with preparing macaroni with chicken, we have provided a step-by-step recipe for you to easily make this mouthwatering dish at home.

Ingredients for Chicken Macaroni with Colored Bell Peppers:

  • 300 grams of macaroni (any shape you prefer)

  • 200 grams of chicken breast

  • 1/2 of each color bell pepper

  • 1 medium onion

  • 2 cloves of garlic

  • 1 bay leaf

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 3 tablespoons sunflower oil

  • 100 grams cooked tomatoes or 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • Milk as needed

  • Flour as needed

  • Butter as needed

Instructions for Chicken Macaroni with Colored Bell Peppers:

  1. Cook the Chicken: Boil the chicken with a bay leaf, one clove of garlic, and some spices. The bay leaf and garlic will add a pleasant aroma and flavor to the chicken.

  2. Cook the Macaroni: Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions and then drain.

  3. Prepare the Sauce: Dice the onion and sauté it in sunflower oil until soft. Add the crushed garlic and continue sautéing until the onions turn golden. Dice the bell peppers and add to the onions, sautéing until soft. Add salt, pepper, and tomato paste or cooked tomatoes, and sauté for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  4. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Cut the cooked chicken into large or rectangular pieces and add to the sauce. Mix the drained macaroni into the sauce.

Ingredients for Chicken and Mushroom Macaroni:

  • 2 cups of macaroni (any shape you prefer)

  • 1 chicken breast

  • 1 clove of garlic

  • 2 tablespoons corn oil

  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms

  • Paprika to taste

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions for Chicken and Mushroom Macaroni:

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Marinate the chicken breast with crushed garlic, corn oil, paprika, salt, and pepper for 2 hours in the refrigerator.

  2. Grill the Chicken: Grill the marinated chicken in a grill pan with a little corn oil.

  3. Prepare the Bechamel Sauce: Toast flour in a pan until the raw smell disappears. Add melted butter and stir continuously to prevent lumps. Gradually add milk while stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Add chopped mushrooms to the sauce and cook well.

  4. Combine Macaroni and Sauce: Mix the drained macaroni into the bechamel sauce. Serve the macaroni and garnish with sliced grilled chicken.

Ingredients for Bechamel Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons flour

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1.5 cups milk

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions for Bechamel Sauce:

  1. Prepare the Sauce: Melt butter in a suitable pan. Add flour and mix well. Continue stirring until small bubbles appear and the mixture becomes smooth, being careful not to burn it. Gradually add milk while stirring constantly to dissolve any lumps. Bring the sauce to a boil until it thickens. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Ingredients for Festive Chicken Macaroni:

  • 500 grams chicken breast

  • 700 grams macaroni

  • 2 bell peppers

  • 2 onions

  • 5 cloves of garlic

  • 1 tablespoon black pepper, salt, and turmeric

  • Olive oil

  • 100 grams tomato paste

  • 2 tomatoes

Instructions for Festive Chicken Macaroni:

  1. Cook the Macaroni: Fill a pot with water, add some oil and salt, and bring to a boil. Break the macaroni in half and cook in boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water to prevent sticking.

  2. Prepare the Sauce: Dice the chicken into small pieces. Heat olive oil in a pan and add the chicken. Cook until lightly browned. Add a spoonful of butter and stir. Cover and cook until fully cooked. Add sliced onions and sauté until soft. Add minced garlic and diced bell peppers, and sauté until combined. Add salt, pepper, turmeric, and tomato paste, and mix well. Finally, add chopped tomatoes and simmer until the sauce is well combined.

  3. Assemble the Macaroni: In a pot, add some oil and line the bottom with lavash bread, potatoes, or macaroni for a crispy base. Layer half of the macaroni, then add the sauce, followed by another layer of macaroni and sauce. Mix lightly and let it steam over low heat for 30 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
