SAEDNEWS: Angabin Vinegar: Iran’s Timeless Honeyed Elixir
One of the most popular and healthful drinks, especially among fans of traditional and herbal medicine, is Sekanjabin (honey vinegar). Thanks to its numerous benefits—such as reducing blood fat, cleansing a fatty liver, treating asthma, and more—traditional medicine experts have long recommended it. In this article, we’ll guide you step by step on how to prepare Sekanjabin at home.
1 cup mint distillate (or mint extract)
½ cup vinegar
1 cup honey
Pour the mint distillate and vinegar into a small saucepan or pot and mix well. You can use apple cider vinegar or any vinegar of your choice, but homemade vinegar is best; industrial vinegars are not suitable.
Heat the mixture and let it boil gently for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and pour into a clean bowl. Let it cool until it becomes lukewarm.
Add honey and stir well until fully blended.
Transfer to a glass jar and store in the refrigerator.

1 cup chicory distillate
½ cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup honey
Like the previous method, pour the chicory distillate and apple cider vinegar into a small saucepan. Heat until it boils and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Pour the mixture into a container and let it cool.
Add honey and mix well.
This version of Sekanjabin, made with chicory distillate, is known to thin the blood and support gallstone health.
You can make Sekanjabin with any type of herbal distillate you like.
Adjust the amount of honey to your taste.
Some recipes also use sugar or rock candy as a sweetener.
