SAEDNEWS: Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said that the agency does not have information about the location of Iran’s enriched uranium.
According to Saednews, quoting Fox News, these remarks were made in an interview with the American network following Iranian officials’ statements that the materials had been moved as part of protective measures ahead of the U.S. attacks on nuclear facilities.
Grossi had previously claimed that, in his view, 900 pounds of Iran’s enriched uranium had been transferred to an old location near Isfahan.
On Tuesday, in an interview with Fox News, responding to a question about this claim, he said: “I must be very precise. We are the International Atomic Energy Agency, and we do not speculate on this matter. We do not have information about the location of these materials.”
Grossi added that Iranian officials had told him that they had taken protective measures which may or may not have included moving these materials.
The Director General of the IAEA also called for the “resumption of inspection activities as soon as possible,” saying, “In my opinion, this is in everyone’s interest.”
He stated: “It is my duty to report on every gram of uranium that exists in Iran or any other country.”
He emphasized that this approach is not discriminatory against Iran.
Grossi further explained: “My job is to try to find out where these materials are because Iran has an obligation to report and be accountable for all the materials it has, and that is supposed to remain my responsibility.”
According to Saednews, on June 13, the Zionist regime, in blatant violation of international law and Iran’s national sovereignty, launched military attacks targeting areas in Tehran and other cities, including the country’s nuclear facilities. This terrorist act resulted in the martyrdom of several scientists, military personnel, and civilians.
Following this aggression, the United States, on the early hours of June 22 (1 Tir), carried out direct attacks on the nuclear sites of Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, effectively joining Israel’s war against Iran. In response, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, citing Article 51 of the UN Charter, emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves all options to defend its national interests and the security of its people.
In this context, on Monday, the second extraordinary meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors was held in Vienna, where members expressed widespread concern over the consequences of these aggressive actions and stressed the necessity of respecting international law, preserving the non-proliferation regime, and returning to the path of diplomacy.
