According to Saed News' cooking service, Valentine’s Day, or Lovers' Day, is celebrated on February 14th (25th of Bahman) worldwide.
In recent years, some Iranians have chosen to celebrate Sepandarmazgan instead of Valentine’s Day, treating it as their special day. Whether Valentine’s Day or Sepandarmazgan, both are occasions to express love and friendship.
In this video, the step-by-step process of making heart-shaped chocolates is demonstrated. The mold used is a silicone mold.

If you're looking to make chocolate for Valentine's Day or want to give a unique and attractive gift to someone you love, we suggest making surprise heart-shaped chocolates. In this article, you can learn the step-by-step process of making Valentine’s Day surprise chocolates with pictures.
Step 1: Grease the Silicone Mold for the Surprise Chocolate In the first step, grease the silicone mold well with some vegetable oil. It’s best to use a brush for greasing, especially if you’re using plastic molds.
Step 2: Melt the Chocolate using the Bain-Marie Method In the second step, melt the chocolates using the bain-marie method over indirect heat, or you can use a microwave. If using a microwave, place the chocolates inside for 30 seconds, stir, and repeat until the chocolate is completely melted.
Step 3: Pour the Melted Chocolate into the Silicone Mold Carefully pour the melted chocolate into the silicone mold, ensuring that the chocolate is evenly spread and has a uniform thickness. Afterward, place the mold in the fridge for 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden. Then, add another layer of melted chocolate to thicken it and refrigerate for another 20 minutes.
Step 4: Remove the Chocolate from the Mold Once the chocolate has hardened, gently press from the bottom to release the chocolate from the mold. Take care to handle it delicately so the chocolate doesn’t break.
Step 5: Prepare the Other Side of the Surprise Chocolate Once the first side of the chocolate is ready, melt more chocolate using the bain-marie method, and pour it into the mold in two stages. Then, refrigerate again until completely set.
Step 6: Attach the Two Sides of the Heart-Shaped Chocolate Once both sides are ready, fill the heart with whatever you like and attach the two halves. You can use chocolate-covered strawberries, colored candies, and heart-shaped cookies. Small gifts or toys are also great to place inside the heart.
To stick the two halves together, you can use melted chocolate along the edges of one side and carefully press the other side onto it. If you want to cover the seam, you can wrap it with a ribbon.
Tip: Some people use a different method to stick the two halves. Heat a pan, and briefly place the inner edge of the chocolate halves in the pan to soften them before joining them. However, this requires skill, as it could melt the chocolate surface, so it's recommended to use melted chocolate for this purpose.
Step 7: Decorate the Valentine’s Day Heart Surprise Chocolate For the final step, refrigerate the chocolate for a few minutes to ensure it is completely set. Then, you can decorate it with colored sprinkles, pink or red melted chocolate, or use a piping bag for designs.
