SAEDNEWS: Hailey and Justin Bieber announced they were expecting their first child in May 2024.
According to SAEDNEWS, Hailey and Justin Bieber have been mostly private about their journey to parenthood — until their announcement of their pregnancy in May 2024.
The “Love Yourself” singer and model got married in September 2018. Since then, internet sleuths have suspected at various points throughout their marriage that Hailey might be expecting, which she’d denied every time, explaining she preferred to keep the news to herself when it did happen.
In October 2023, Hailey told GQ Hype that while she wants to be private about when she becomes pregnant, motherhood "is something that I look forward to."
"It's also such a private, intimate thing. It's something that's going to come when it comes,” she said. "And it's just, honestly, at the end of the day, so hilarious how much people care. Let me do what I want with my body and you guys can do what you want to do with your body — and let's just let it be that.”
Just six months later, in May 2024, Hailey and Justin shared their happy news on Instagram, along with photos from their vow renewal ceremony. Both posted the same carousel on their respective accounts, simply tagging the other in their captions.

Justin shared several times early into his marriage with Hailey that he was looking forward to becoming a father but was also not in a rush.
"I want to start my own family, in due time," he told Apple Music's Zane Lowe in February 2020. "I want to enjoy being married for a little bit, go on tour, be married, enjoy traveling with just us, build more of our relationship."
He added in December 2020 while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that though he was excited to welcome his own brood of kids, he wanted to respect Hailey’s timeline.
"I am going to have as many as Hailey is wishing to" Justin said. "I'd love to have myself a little tribe. But, yeah, it's her body and whatever she wants to do. ... I think she wants to have a few."
After the comedian asked what the couple were waiting for, Justin replied, “There’s not really an issue.”
"But I think Hailey still has some things she wants to accomplish as a woman, and I think ... she's just not ready yet,” he said. “And that's okay."
In October 2021, Justin’s documentary, Justin Bieber: Our World, was released and in one clip, he expressed his desire to have kids.
"My intention for 2021 is to continue to set goals and have fun while doing them. Make sure I put my family first and hopefully we squish out a nugget," he told Hailey the morning before his New Year's Eve 2020 concert.
"In 2021?" she replied, to which Justin clarified he meant to “start trying” in 2021.
"We shall see," Hailey replied.
In a July 2024 cover interview with W Magazine, Hailey said that though she "probably could have" hidden her pregnancy until her baby was born, she "didn’t enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly."
"I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn’t feel good," she said. "I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life.”
During the time she did hide her pregnancy, she said it was easy to do since she "stayed small for a long time."
"I didn’t have a belly, really, until I was six months pregnant, which was when I announced it. I was able to wear big jackets and stuff," she added.
