According to SAEDNEWS, The navies of Pakistan and Türkiye participated in joint naval exercises in the northern Arabian Sea, as announced in an official statement on Friday.
According to the Pakistan Navy, the two naval forces engaged in coordinated patrols and various naval drills, which were held following a "goodwill" visit by the Turkish Navy's ship, TCG Kinaliada, to Pakistan.
The statement detailed that the exercises included a range of naval operations such as defending against asymmetric threats, conducting visit board search and seizure (VBSS) drills, and air defense exercises. These activities were designed to enhance the professional skills of the personnel involved and improve interoperability between the two navies.
In conjunction with the port visit, a delegation from the Turkish Navy, led by Vice Admiral Ibrahim Ozdem Kocer, the Chief of Staff of the Turkish Navy, held discussions with field commanders and officials from the Pakistan Navy. The purpose of these meetings was to address matters of mutual interest and explore further avenues for collaboration, as reported by Yeni Safak.
The Pakistan Navy emphasized the historically warm and brotherly relations shared between Pakistan and Türkiye, noting that the arrival of the Turkish Navy ship symbolizes the strength of their bilateral ties. The statement concluded by expressing confidence that the presence of Turkish Navy officers and the ship would significantly strengthen the existing relationship between the two nations, particularly in terms of collaboration between their naval forces.
