According to Saed News’ Cooking Service, stuffed potatoes are a simple, versatile dish. You can serve it as a complete meal or as a side dish at casual gatherings and family parties, adding extra color and charm to your dining table.

This version of stuffed potatoes differs slightly from other stuffed dishes like grape leaf or cabbage rolls. Interestingly, many children enjoy its flavor and often ask their mothers to make it as one of their favorite meals.

Ingredients for the Sauce:

  • 2 cups water

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Ingredients for Stuffed Potatoes

  • 8 potatoes

  • 300 g ground meat

  • 1 onion

  • 1 clove garlic

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 bell pepper

  • 10 mushrooms

  • 2 tomatoes

  • Sufficient pizza cheese

Preparation Steps

  1. Peel the potatoes and scoop out the centers using a spoon or a special tool. Heat some oil in a pan and fry the potatoes thoroughly in the hot oil.

  2. Prepare the filling: finely dice the onion and sauté it in a pan. When softened, add the minced garlic and ground meat along with salt and black pepper. Cook until the meat changes color.

  3. Add sliced mushrooms and diced bell pepper, cooking until the mushrooms release their water. Finally, dice the tomatoes into small cubes and mix them with the other ingredients until everything becomes soft and uniform.

  4. Fill the hollowed potatoes with the prepared mixture and press firmly to prevent the filling from falling out during baking.

  5. Grease a baking dish and arrange the stuffed potatoes inside. Sprinkle pizza cheese on top.

  6. Prepare the sauce by bringing it to a gentle boil on the stove until slightly thickened, then pour it over the potatoes to fill the bottom of the dish.

  7. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) and bake the potatoes for 30 minutes until cooked.
