Pack your travel bag because we are going to a beautiful beach in Hormozgan together — a beach located in Bandar Tabban. This port, which not long ago was a commercial port with a customs office, is now one of Hormozgan’s popular fishing ports thanks to its amazing scenery. So, stay with us until the end of this article to find out where Tabban Beach is and what attractions a trip to this area offers.
This beautiful beach is located in the southern part of Iran, in Hormozgan Province. To visit this tourist attraction, you need to go to Hormozgan Province, Parsian County, Kushkenar District, and then to a village called Bandar Tabban.
This small port is situated in the southernmost part of Hormozgan, near the border between Hormozgan and Bushehr provinces. Its elevation is 200 meters above sea level and 5 meters above the water level. The locals in the past used this small port to export straw to Dubai and in return imported various goods; hence the name “Tabban” means straw.
Access to this beach is very easy. After reaching Kushkenar, you take the paved road towards Bandar Tabban heading to the sea until you reach the beach and its coastal park. The distance from Kushkenar city to this port is 8 kilometers, about a 10-minute drive to the beach.
Why visit Tabban Coastal Park?
All coastal areas of Hormozgan are full of ports with ancient histories where different trades were once conducted. Bandar Tabban was originally a commercial port with customs but was transformed into a fishing port after the revolution.
This beautiful port, being the southernmost and most peripheral port of Hormozgan, is considered a pristine area. Spending time on its beach gives you a unique feeling. You can sit for hours in the coastal park’s gazebos or on the rocky hills and mountains, gazing at the distant Persian Gulf while the cool sea breeze gently brushes your face, sipping a hot drink, and listening peacefully to the waves of the Persian Gulf.
The beaches of Hormozgan are sandy, and alongside most of them, there are rocks and stones with interesting and stunning shapes. At this beach, the endless sea, sandy shore, and a large rocky mountain create a fascinating and beautiful view.
One of the most exciting activities you can try here is boating. Each boat can hold eight people, so you can enjoy boating with friends or family and have thrilling moments. Besides this, you can also bike or walk along the beach and explore the beautiful nature surrounding it.
The rocky mountains of this port, with their strange and beautiful shapes beside the sea, provide the best scenery for photography. So even if you are not a professional photographer, be sure to take a selfie with these beautiful rocks.
Around this beach, there are other sights as well, including the Hara Forest, Benood Beach, and Nayband Bay.
Wonders of Tabban Beach
As mentioned, there are rocky mountains with interesting and strange shapes on Hormozgan’s beaches. At Bandar Tabban and its beach, the rocks and mountains create a beautiful landscape beside the Persian Gulf. Interestingly, one of the rocky mountains on this beach, due to natural erosion over time, has taken the shape of a Simorgh (mythical bird).
This beach has two separate sections for tourists, each with its own charm. One part is on top of a hill about 50 meters high — one of the most amazing hills you will ever see. The view from this hill faces the sea, and imagine watching the endless sea, the beautiful sky, and the boats and ships moving from a height of fifty meters — how exciting that must be, especially with a cool breeze scented with the sea caressing your face.
The second part of the beach lies between the mountains and the shore. This section, like the others, has its own beauty and wonders.
Best time to visit Tabban Beach
The southern cities of Iran have warm and humid weather. This climate in the hot seasons is hard to bear for non-locals, so the best time to travel to this port is the second half of the year.
During the colder seasons and early spring, this port fills with tourists and travelers and becomes lively. At the end of the year and early Farvardin (March-April), various exhibitions, including local and traditional food fairs and handicraft shows, take place here. These events and the presence of tourists bring a lot of excitement and vitality to the area at this time of year.
Accommodation for your trip to Bandar Tabban
There are multiple accommodation options for your trip to this port. If you plan a few hours’ visit or a one-day trip to the beach, you can return to the city at the end of the day and stay in a hotel there. Another option is to stay in traditional eco-lodges located in the villages around the port.
An exciting alternative is to stay overnight at the port itself and camp. The coastal park has platforms for setting up tents and camping. Remember, if you want to camp, bring all your necessary equipment.
The coastal park also offers various facilities for the comfort of tourists, such as local food exhibitions, restaurants, a mosque, restrooms, a children’s playground, a supermarket, gazebos, and lighting.
