According to the History Service of Saed News, World War I, also known as the Great War, was a global conflict that took place from July 28, 1914, to November 11, 1918 (5 Mordad 1293 to 19 Aban 1297 in the Persian calendar). During this period, many soldiers were mobilized for war, and large parts of the world were engulfed in conflict. The casualties of World War I were unprecedented in the history of global warfare up to that time. For the first time, chemical weapons were used, and civilian areas were extensively bombed from the air.
