How to Make Şekerpare; A Popular Pastry of Ramadan in Turkey / It's Truly Much Tastier Than Baklava and Bamiye

According to the cooking service of Saed News, in the video you watched, the steps of baking and important tips are taught step by step.

Ingredients:

  • 260g/2 cups of all-purpose flour

  • 1 egg

  • 1 egg white

  • 100g/half cup of vegetable oil

  • 100g/half cup of powdered sugar

  • 120g/3/4 cup of semolina flour (heaping)

  • 10g/1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • A pinch of salt

  • A pinch of vanilla

Syrup Ingredients:

  • 1.5 French cups of water

  • 1.5 French cups of sugar

  • 3 cardamom pods

  • 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice or 1/8 teaspoon of citric acid

  • Saffron (optional)

Egg wash ingredients:

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 tablespoon of milk

  • A little saffron powder and pistachio powder for decoration

Tip: After pouring the syrup over the pastry, allow it to sit for about 1 hour for the syrup to fully absorb into the pastries. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt once before adding them to the mixture.
