Saed News: Here is an old photo from the wedding ceremony of Ahmad Shah Qajar and Badral-Molouk Vala. She was the mother of Iran Dokht, the first girl Mohammad Reza Pahlavi fell in love with, but Reza Shah did not grant permission for their marriage.
According to the historical news service of Saed News, Badral-Molouk Vala was born in 1897 and passed away in 1979. She was the first wife of Ahmad Shah and the mother of his first child, Iran Dokht. She held a special place in Ahmad Shah's heart.
She was the daughter of Zaheer al-Sultan Vala. Her grandfathers, Mohammad Hassan Mirza Motazed al-Dawlah and Mohammad Ali Mirza Dadestan, were both sons of Mehdi Qoli Mirza and descendants of Abbas Mirza.
Ahmad Shah Qajar married her at the age of 17 (a year before his coronation). This marriage was arranged by Ahmad Shah's mother, Queen Jahān. At the time, the bride was 16 years old and attended the only girls' school in Tehran. The wedding ceremony was held with elaborate rituals, and the result of this union was Iran Dokht.
It is said that Badral-Molouk was very beautiful, and Ahmad Shah had great affection for her. He often took her to the Mirror Hall of Golestan Palace, where he would look at her reflection in the mirrors and say, "Here, I don’t just have one Badri, I have thousands of Badris."
