Saed News: The Deputy of Planning and Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad said: Special measures have been taken to ensure the stable supply of essential goods and foodstuffs in the provinces of the country, and decision-making has been delegated to the governors.
According to Saed News, Akbar Fathi said on Tuesday in an interview with IRNA’s economic reporter about the latest status of supply and distribution of goods and public necessities: The essential goods supply plan has been organized based on a supply model, and special authorities have been granted to governors for traveler-heavy provinces, especially northern provinces facing population increases, with the minister’s approval.
The Deputy of Planning and Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad emphasized that there is no shortage of flour in the country and said: Governors can procure any amount of flour needed directly from the warehouses within their own provinces by coordinating with the Agriculture Jihad Organization, the Iranian Government Trading Company, and the Grain Company.
He added that these items are sufficiently available within the provinces themselves without needing transport from other regions and are injected into the market.
Fathi said that in addition to the regular consumption quotas for the provinces, additional quotas are being allocated from two sources: the reserves of suppliers’ associations and the Government Trading Company, and this decision has been communicated to the provinces today.
He also mentioned that special quotas have been allocated to governors for the Muharram period.
He noted that red meat and chicken quotas have been allocated to the provinces since yesterday and added that in the agricultural sector, relying on domestic production, the harvesting season for crops such as wheat, vegetables, garden produce, and legumes is underway and supplies are being provided.
The Deputy of Planning and Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad said that food supplies have been delegated to governors in provincial segments.
He emphasized that there is no shortage of any essential goods and stressed that the only important factor is public cooperation, warning that panic buying caused by rumors on social media or profiteering disrupts market balance.
Fathi urged citizens to shop as they normally would and not to worry about the supply of food and essential goods, and also requested that any cases of hoarding or price gouging be reported to the 124 hotline.
He stated that wheat harvesting is progressing well and that guaranteed wheat purchases by the Government Trading Company continue, with payments being gradually settled according to agreements with the Plan and Budget Organization.
