SAEDNEWS: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed the need for greater unity and cooperation among Islamic countries, with particular emphasis on strengthening relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During a Monday meeting in Tehran with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Iranian official Pezeshkian described Iran–Azerbaijan relations as deep-rooted, anchored in cultural and religious bonds.

Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s readiness to expand cooperation in political, economic, and cultural arenas, stressing that no obstacles stand in the way of closer engagement. He also referenced his recent visit to Azerbaijan, highlighting positive agreements between senior officials and noting that fully leveraging these opportunities would benefit both nations.

Mustafayev, conveying greetings from President Ilham Aliyev, affirmed Baku’s commitment to strengthening ties with Tehran. He noted that Pezeshkian’s visit marked a new phase in bilateral relations, with agreements now entering the implementation stage.

The deputy prime minister highlighted ongoing collaboration in agriculture, industry, energy, and joint projects, reaffirming Azerbaijan’s intent to deepen cooperation. He also dismissed claims of Azerbaijan’s involvement in regional conflicts, emphasizing that the country respects neighboring territorial integrity and will prevent its land from being used against Iran.

This renewed focus signals a strategic push to solidify Iran-Azerbaijan partnership, blending diplomacy, trade, and cultural connections for mutual growth and regional stability.
