Behavior and Diet: Contrary to the common belief that hyenas are only scavengers, they are also skilled hunters. Spotted hyenas hunt in groups and can take down large animals like zebras and antelopes. They also feed on the remains of other animals' kills.
Social Life: Spotted hyenas live socially in groups called "clans," which are led by a dominant female. These groups can consist of dozens of hyenas and have a complex social hierarchy.
Reproduction: Females usually give birth to 2 to 4 cubs after a gestation period of about 100 days. The cubs are initially blind and entirely dependent on their mother.
