SAEDNEWS: Dr. Alireza Marandi discloses that the Supreme Leader’s wife personally visits underprivileged families incognito, with no one aware of her identity.
According to Saed News, Alireza Marandi, head of the Supreme Leader’s medical team, has shared insights from his years at the Leader’s side and detailed aspects of the Leader’s lifestyle and family relations.
In an interview with the newspaper Shahrvand, Marandi was asked: “How would you like to be introduced: as a former Minister of Health, head of the Supreme Leader’s medical team, or president of the Academy of Medical Sciences?” He replied, “Dr. Seyed Alireza Marandi.”
When reminded that he and the Leader are the same age—though the Leader is eight months his senior—the interviewer asked how much Ayatollah Khamenei values his own health. Marandi answered simply: “Very much.”
The conversation then turned to the charitable work of Mrs. Khajeste Bagherzadeh, the Leader’s wife. “What do you know of her benevolence toward impoverished communities? For instance, have you ever been asked to assist in health or medical matters?” the interviewer inquired.
Marandi recounted: “When I was minister, her driver—who owned a Paykan—took her to one of the deprived districts around Tehran. Afterwards, the driver called me and said that today she had visited a family whose father, mother, or child was ill and needed help. Upon investigation, I realized that she regularly visits underprivileged families without anyone knowing who she is.”
