SAEDNEWS: Iranian president said Sunday that "the double standards adopted by the United States and some Western states have emboldened the Zionist regime to become even more aggressive and threaten world peace and security."
According to SAEDNEWS. In a recent phone call with Charles Michel, President of the European Council, Iranian President Pezeshkian made significant remarks about the impact of Western double standards on regional security. He emphasized that the inconsistent policies of the United States and some Western nations have emboldened the Zionist regime, leading to an escalation in violent acts, including assassinations and other heinous crimes in Gaza and neighboring countries. "Exercising double standards by the United States and some Western countries has made the Zionist regime become more aggressive," he stated, warning that this not only threatens the peace and security of the region but also poses risks to global stability.
The conversation also touched on the pressing matter of the 2015 nuclear agreement. In response to Michel's suggestions to revive discussions, Pezeshkian outlined that trust and mutual benefits must form the foundation of any agreement. He pointed out, "If the two sides live up to all their obligations and trust is established, not only the revival of the nuclear agreement, but also other issues in bilateral relations will be discussable." This underscores Iran’s commitment to engaging in constructive dialogue while asserting its rights and interests.
Pezeshkian went on to discuss the importance of establishing a multipolar world order. He criticized the U.S. for applying pressure on countries like Iran, suggesting that such actions are aimed at preventing the emergence of a new world order and are detrimental to achieving global stability and peace. His remarks reflect a growing sentiment within Iran that emphasizes the need for equitable international relations.
On the other hand, President Michel expressed optimism about the potential for effective engagement between Iran and the European Union, stressing the importance of securing mutual benefits and removing barriers to broader interactions. He reiterated the willingness of European nations to enhance their relationships with Iran, signaling a potential pathway for diplomatic progress.
As the dialogue between Iran and Europe unfolds, many remain hopeful that constructive conversations can lead to a more stable and peaceful region, one built on mutual respect and understanding.
