According to SaedNews, Jimmy Carter was born on October 1, 1924 (Mehr 9, 1303, in the Persian calendar) in Plains, Georgia, USA. He pursued a law degree and later held various government positions, including serving in the U.S. Navy, representing Georgia in the state legislature, and eventually becoming the governor of Georgia.

In the 1976 U.S. presidential election, Carter defeated his Republican opponent by campaigning on a human rights platform. This stance put significant pressure on the Shah of Iran, a long-time ally of the Republican Party, forcing him to implement a series of reluctant reforms.

On New Year’s Eve in January 1978 (Dey 1356), Carter visited Iran and attended a lavish reception at Niavaran Palace, marking his final efforts to support the weakening Pahlavi regime. Below are some images from that historic visit.
