SAEDNEWS: Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations says that the country's nuclear program will not be destroyed by bombs, nor will it be stopped by sanctions, nor will it be diverted from its peaceful path.

No Bombs, No Sanctions Can Stop Iran’s Nuclear Ambitions, Says Official

New York – Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, addressed reporters on Friday following a Security Council meeting, sharply criticizing the recent vote by the U.S., U.K., and France to attempt the reimposition of sanctions on Tehran.

Iravani called the action “a political abuse of process” that undermines the credibility and impartiality of the UN Security Council. He emphasized that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and fully under IAEA safeguards, and condemned the E3’s move as “baseless, illegal, and unjustified,” noting it bypassed the dispute resolution mechanisms of the JCPOA.

“Those who failed to honor their commitments cannot now misuse Resolution 2231 to impose snapback sanctions,” Iravani said, highlighting that the resolution’s expiry must be respected. He accused the E3 of defending Israeli attacks on Iran’s safeguarded nuclear facilities instead of condemning them.

The ambassador stressed that Iran’s door to diplomacy remains open, but Tehran will decide with whom and on what issues it engages. He added that the Security Council’s divided vote demonstrates a lack of global consensus and risks dangerous consequences for nuclear non-proliferation.

“Iran’s nuclear program will not be destroyed by bombs, halted by sanctions, or diverted from its peaceful path,” Iravani concluded, reaffirming the country’s commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and its sovereign right to peaceful nuclear energy.

This statement comes amid escalating tensions over the future of the JCPOA and the ongoing debate over sanctions enforcement, placing Iran at the center of international diplomatic scrutiny.
