Iran’s Supreme Leader Tramples Israeli Flag in Symbolic Gesture, Calls Zionist Regime “Doomed to Collapse”

According to Saed News, the incident occurred during a public appearance widely circulated by Iranian media, where an image of Khamenei standing over the Israeli flag was used to underscore the Islamic Republic's ongoing hostility toward what it labels as the “Zionist regime.” The Supreme Leader declared, “The Zionist regime is essentially a structure with severely weakened foundations — one that is destined to vanish.”

Born on July 15, 1939, in the holy city of Mashhad, Ayatollah Khamenei is the second son of the late Ayatollah Seyyed Javad Hosseini Khamenei. His upbringing in a modest clerical household shaped a life of religious austerity that he has carried into Iran's highest political office. Iranian state media often juxtapose his personal simplicity with images of defiance against foreign adversaries, including the United States and Israel.

This latest image — showing the Israeli flag beneath his feet — is meant to serve as a symbolic annihilation of a longtime foe. It aligns with decades of anti-Israel rhetoric that form a cornerstone of Iran’s revolutionary identity.

While such gestures resonate with hardline segments of the Iranian public, they are also seen by international observers as provocative, particularly at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East.
