SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva urged human rights institutions to hold the Zionist regime accountable for crimes in Lebanon and Palestine.
According to SAEDNEWS, Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, has called on global human rights organizations to hold Israel responsible for its actions in Lebanon and Palestine.
In separate letters addressed to the president of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, as well as the UN high commissioner for human rights, Bahreini condemned Israel’s recent attacks on Lebanon. He emphasized the need for immediate action from the international community in response to Israel's aggression and insisted that the regime must be held accountable for its actions.
Bahreini specifically criticized Israeli airstrikes in Beirut, which he claimed resulted in the assassination of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Iranian general Abbas Nilforooshan. He stated that these attacks are a clear violation of human rights and international humanitarian law.
The ambassador pointed out that Israel's use of US-made weapons, including BLU-109 bombs, in these attacks indicates a level of complicity from the West, particularly the United States, in Israel’s military actions. He urged Western countries to immediately cease their arms deliveries to Israel.
Moreover, Bahreini highlighted Iran's military response to Israeli aggression, stating that missiles were fired as a defense of Iran’s national sovereignty and regional security.
