SAEDNEWS: The Minister in charge of trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Andrey Slepnev says that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has invited Iran to participate in the Eurasian Economic Forum in Yerevan, Armenia
According to SAEDNEWS, The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has extended an invitation to Iran to participate in the upcoming Eurasian Economic Forum, which is set to take place in Yerevan, Armenia. Andrey Slepnev, the Minister in charge of trade for the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), confirmed the invitation during a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, on Wednesday.
In their discussions in Moscow, Slepnev and Jalali explored various aspects of cooperation between Iran and the EAEU, highlighting the importance of strengthening these ties. Jalali underscored that collaborating with the EAEU, as well as with BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, ranks among Iran’s priorities for international engagement.
The Eurasian Economic Forum is scheduled for September 30th to October 1st in Yerevan, which will provide a platform for discussing economic integration and cooperation among member states.
The EAEU is comprised of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia, with Uzbekistan, Moldova, and Cuba currently holding observer member status. Earlier, Ambassador Jalali had formally submitted Iran's request to join the EAEU as an observer member, reflecting the nation’s interest in deeper economic collaboration within the region.
