According to SAEDNEWS, The White House has announced that President Joe Biden will engage in a phone call with King Abdullah II of Jordan this coming Monday.
On the same day, President Biden will also convene his national security team to address recent developments in West Asia. This closed-door meeting will take place in the situation room and will not be open to the press, as reported by Anadolu Agency.
The proposed discussions take place against the backdrop of a pressing humanitarian crisis. Approximately 39,600 Palestinians have lost their lives over the past 10 months due to the ongoing conflict that erupted in the Gaza Strip on October 7. This situation has heightened regional tensions dramatically. The most recent escalation was marked by the assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last Wednesday, which followed an Israeli strike in a suburb of Beirut that targeted a senior military commander of Hezbollah.
